Dear friends and comrades,

We are seeking programmers for the “Arbeitszeitapp”, developed over the past three years by members of IDA. The app aims to implement the theory of working time calculation as a web app, based on the ideas of the Group of International Communists.

The potential applications of the app range from communes to cooperative associations and extend to simulations and experiments for advancing labour time calculation theory. It is intended to be a tool for post-capitalist practice.

Specifically, the application allows companies to submit and publish production plans, including labor costs, exchange production resources between companies, and record work hours. Workers receive certificates for their efforts, which they can use to acquire products from other companies. Collaboration and transparency are fostered through cooperations, democratic control, and plan approval by a democratically legitimized body.

While development is well underway, the current development team (comprising about 4 regular members) is seeking additional support from programmers. There are still essential features to implement, and numerous optional enhancements are desirable.

The primary programming language is Python, and weekly half-hour online meetings are conducted in English.

Further information about the app can be found on Github (https://github.com/arbeitszeit/arbeitszeitapp) or on our blog (https://arbeitszeit.noblogs.org/app/).

We appreciate your assistance in spreading this call and hope for the involvement of more motivated comrades!
